Pip Carpenter is a painter and printmaker. She works initially direct from the subject to capture the spontaneity of first vision. She extracts the vital elements, combines and constructs with layers of colour, lines and contours to create an intense interpretation. Her paintings are watercolour, acrylic and pastel. Her hand-made prints are etchings, dry points, and collographs. Many of her prints are finished with hand colouring to give them extra vibrancy and texture. Pip Carpenter was Senior Lecture at Middlesex University, until leaving to becomre a full-time artist. She is a member of the Greenwich and Southbank Printmakers.
Her work is featured in numerous publications including 'The Encyclopeadia of Printmaking Technique', 'The Encyclopeadis of Watercolour Landscape Technique', 'The Compleate Drawing Course' and 'Pastels workshop'. |
